Sadie Dupuis & Alondra Adame Poetry Reading

Facebook Event
Prolific musician and poet Sadie Dupuis visits Chico to share poems from her second book, Cry Perfume (Black Ocean).
During the isolation of the pandemic, Dupuis compiled and edited four years’ worth of poems she’d written on the road touring with her band Speedy Ortiz. The result is Cry Perfume: a stunning new collection of poetry about beauty, mourning and music. Cry Perfume landed on best of year end lists for fellow indie booksellers including Two Dollar Radio + Rough Trade. It received a stellar Publisher's Weekly review, was lauded by Pitchfork and came with advance praise from Hanif Abdurraqib, Eileen Myles, and Steven Malkmus (Pavement). Local poet Alondra Adame (they/she) joins Sadie for this reading. Alondra is a Chicanx poet and essayist from Northern California. You can find their work in Pleiades, Lost Balloon, Alebrijes Review, The Nasiona, and more. They are currently working on a collection of poems exploring space, place, and identity.
