Matthew Tyson is a British artist, who studied at St. Martin’s School of Art and the University of London, and lives in Piegros La Clastre in southeastern France. He is a printmaker, painter, and book artist. Tyson founded and runsimprints galerie, as dealer, publisher, and producer of an extensive list of artists’ books and prints. He has been a residency fellow at The Edward Albee Foundation in New York, and in his role of publisher printmaker, he has participated in numerous art fairs around the world. His work is represented internationally in many major collections (U.S.A.: New York Public Library, Library of Congress, Columbia University, MoMA ; London: Victoria & Albert Museum, Tate Gallery, The British Library; Paris: Musée Nationale d’Art Moderne, Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Bibliothèque d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris; Vienna: Akademie der Bildenden Kunste; Kaiserslautern: Pfalzgalerie; Offenbach: Klingspor Museum; Florence: Bibliotheca Nazionale Centrale ; the Hague: Rijksmuseum Meermanno-Westreenanium). Currently, Tyson is a professor at the University Jean Monnet, St Etienne, France. During October and November 2013, he has the solo exhibit Angels with private showings preceded by yoga and followed by kirtan at Go Go Yoga in London.
