Crystal Keesey Belle Apocalypse A CSU, Chico MFA Culminating Exhibition MAY 16 – JUNE 1, 2013
Crystal Keesey is currently a Master of Fine Arts candidate at California State University, Chico, in the areas of photography and glass sculpture. She plans to graduate in spring 2013 with a master’s thesis exhibition at the 1078 Gallery that includes both mixed-media sculptures and large-format, traditional photographic prints. These pieces explore the moment of human conception from psychological and biological standpoints.
Keesey has been an instructor for introduction to photography and sculpture classes. She attended California State Summer Arts in 2010 and a glass-intensive workshop at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in 2011. She is an ongoing student of world-renown Magnum photographer David Alan Harvey. She attended a workshop with the master in Toronto in 2009, producing a body of photographic work, guided and edited by Mr. Harvey, that was exhibited at the 2009 Toronto Festival of the Photograph. Harvey continues to play an active role in the development of her photographic portfolio.
Keesey is the mother of four children and owns her own commercial photographic business, Crystal Keesey Photography.
