These four artists, who shared studio space, critique floors, instructors, and gallery walls at SFAI, now come together for a visual dialogue in Confluence.
Confluence, here meaning a “coming or flowing together, a meeting or gathering at one point,” represents as the title of this exhibition not only an integral continuous and celebratory nature of close connections, but also describes the method by which the art is created.
Streams of color are applied through the technique of pouring media onto various surfaces. Pools, puddles and stains creating organic patterns sometimes resembling natural forms are common themes in these works.
