Reception and silent auction: Saturday, August 18, 6-8pm 

(Raffle for participation in Entire Gallery Show at 7:30pm; music by Rob Davidson and Elizabeth Newman Kuiper throughout)This August, the 1078 Gallery hosts its 2nd 2(D) for the Show to be titled 2(D) for the Show 2(2012) for 2(Dollars). The instructions are similar to—and different from—our 2(D) for the Show (March 2010), which resulted in the delightful2(D) for the Lobby Show (December 2011).

2(D) for the Show 2(2012) for 2(Dollars), for example, will result in 2(D) for the Entire Gallery Show (July 2013). Admittedly, there are lots of 2s here, but participating is pretty simple and should be fun.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Create your submissions on the opposite side of our invitation cards (shape TBD but different from the first time), and automatically be entered in a raffle held at the reception for one of the 10 spots for the 2(D) for the Entire Gallery Show (July 2013). You need not be present at the raffle to win.
  2. Entry fee is $2 per submission with no limit on submissions.
  3. Additional cards will be available at the 1078 Gallery while supplies last.
  4. This show is open to all 2-D work in any discipline and from anyone at any age.
  5. Submissions must be created on the opposite side of the invitation card and remain within the card's dimensions. Those not following the guidelines will not be accepted.
  6. All submissions will be available for purchase at the silent auction at the reception starting for $10.
TIMELINE

  1. Drop off submissions ($2 ea) Saturday August 4, 12:30-5:30pm (regular gallery hours). If you need to mail, please make sure your entry arrives by August 4 and is accompanied by the fee.
  2. 2(D) for the Show 2(2012) for 2(Dollars) opens August 9 and runs through August 18.
  3. Reception and silent auction: Saturday, August 18, 6-8pm (raffle for Entire Gallery Show at 7:30pm)
  4. Ideally, all art goes home at 8pm, August 18. 5. 2(D) for the Entire Gallery Show (exhibiting the works of the 10 raffle winners) goes up July 2013.
