Picture
This body of work serves as an abstract exploration of emotions and trauma following the diagnosis and treatment of a life terminating illness. The sculptural objects contemplate the impact of treatment and the varying degrees of support and love, as well as the lack of, from those in my personal and professional lives. Within this collection, the objects intricately weave together formal design elements, manipulating positive and negative spaces, blending texture and color, creating a blurry surface that references memory over time.

The objects present to the viewer a tenuous structure of modular elements that embrace their connections, defying gravity, while acknowledging and working around the absence of form of the negative space. These objects act as three dimensional self portraiture, divorced from the figure, and focusing on the experience of the powerfully raw emotions that can be captured through color, form, perspective, and space.
