Artists Rebecca Wallace and Rebecca Shelly have teamed up with students from the Gallery Production course at Butte College. This semester the class is helping to organize the art show Remembered, art honoring loss from the Camp Fire.
The goal of this show is to connect artists with people who have suffered loss from the recent destruction. Over 40 artists around the world have agreed to participate and we are looking for both stories and more artists who wish to make pieces for the show. Stories will be posted to our Facebook group page with images of peoples’ possessions, their homes, pets, or even loved ones. Artists will then adopt a picture to create a piece of art. These pieces will be shown at 1078 Gallery during the weekend of April 26-27, and afterwards be given to those who shared their stories.
