exhibitionsTrevor Lalaguna: ShrinkageOctober 27-November 19, 2011Reception: Friday, October 28, 6 - 8pm (talk at 7)Trevor Lalaguna received his MFA in 2011 and his BFA in 2003 from CSU Chico. He currently teaches art at Shasta College and resides in Red Bluff. He has shown many times in solo and group shows on the Chico State campus (Humanities Center Gallery, University Art Gallery, BSO Space Gallery, BMU 3rd Floor Gallery) and at the 1078 Gallery and has been selected for a number of juried shows. He says about this exhibit: "Shrinkage, an entirely new body of work, is mixed media consisting of my signature body-based sculptures as well as paintings and drawings. The show examines the struggle of the human body in motion focusing particularly on the breakdown of the body's physical structure. The show investigates tools and products used to preserve the body—to make it comfortable and functional—in the aging process." "Trevor Lalaguna of Red Bluff, a May 2011 graduate of the Masters in Fine Arts Program, was awarded the prestigious International Sculpture Center’s (ISC) Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award for 2011."
